The real question is whether Apple would allow third-party software authenticators on iOS/macOS. In this context, KeePassium can surely store a few private keys in the database and sign incoming challenges. On the one hand, I have only recently looked at WebAuthn closely - and yes, it offers an impressively smooth experience and I would be happy to be part of it.
